Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Associate Product Manager.

In this role, the successful candidate will report to the Senior Director of Workplace Technology, and we are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive M365 Product Specialist to manage and optimize our entire Microsoft 365 (M365) tenant. This role will focus on understanding M365 features, changes, licensing management, and driving widespread adoption of M365 tools across the organization. The Product Specialist will serve as a key resource for other teams and departments that utilize the M365 ecosystem, ensuring that the platform is used to its full potential while staying abreast of new updates and best practices. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, is a champion for digital tools, and is excited about working across technical and non-technical teams.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

M365 Tenant Management:

  • Introduce a roadmap for Microsoft 365 (M365) by identifying, prioritizing, and implementing new features, tools, and updates that align with the organization's business goals.
  • Lead efforts to evaluate and introduce new M365 capabilities, such as Microsoft Teams Premium features, Microsoft Loop, Copilot, or other emerging technologies, ensuring these solutions meet organizational needs.
  • Oversee M365 license management and optimization, ensuring the organization has the appropriate licensing mix to support current and future adoption
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to introduce new M365 capabilities, ensuring alignment with user needs and organizational objectives.
  • Stay informed of Microsoft product roadmap and proactively plan the rollout of new features to maximize impact and value.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Partner with key business stakeholders to understand pain points and unmet needs, identifying areas where new M365 tools or features can deliver value.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to implement new M365 functionalities, driving adoption and improving workflows.
  • Act as a liaison between cross-functional teams (e.g., IT, security, engineering, and business units) that rely on various M365 workloads, ensuring alignment and shared understanding of platform configurations and requirements.
  • Act as the voice of the user within the organization, collecting input from employees across departments to guide decisions on new M365 tool adoption and implementation.
  • Understand the differences in our varied stakeholders from corporate workers, remote workers, clinical staff and the impact of the M365 products across different end points including desktops, mobile devices, VDIs, kiosks on and off premises

Communication and Training:

  • Implement and execute adoption campaigns for newly implemented M365 capabilities, leveraging training sessions, internal communications, and self-service resources to educate end users. Provide clear, consistent communication about platform changes and upcoming features, tailoring messages for both technical and non-technical users.
  • Create ongoing feedback loop with end users, ensuring their needs and experiences shape the adoption and optimization of M365 tools.
  • Lead organization-wide efforts to promote the adoption of new M365 features through targeted communication, workshops, and user engagement strategies.
  • Establish a process to request Microsoft 365 services and tools for our end users, enabling them to efficiently request and utilize the resources they need for their roles, such as during the onboarding process.
  • Engage with Microsoft account managers and customer success managers on a regular basis.

Configuration and Technical Oversight:

  • Collaborate and test with engineers to design configurations that balance technical feasibility with user experience.
  • Understand the implications of licensing tiers on the NYULH on-prem to M365 migrations to support engineers in implementing cost-effective solutions.

Product Feedback and Strategy:

  • Implement KPIs to measure the success of new features or tools introduced in the M365 ecosystem and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Launch user research and feedback sessions to understand how employees use M365 tools and identify areas for improvement.
  • Translate business needs into actionable opportunities for M365 feature adoption or process enhancements, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Track and measure the success of new M365 initiatives, including adoption rates, productivity improvements, and user satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2+ years of experience working with Microsoft 365, particularly in tenant management, feature deployment, and licensing management.
Strong understanding of M365 services (e.g., Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange, MS Planner, MS Forms, MS Viva, Customer Insights, CoPilot, Power Automate) and associated configurations.
Proven experience leading training sessions and communicating complex technical changes to non-technical audiences.
Experience managing cross-functional projects and collaborating with technical teams.
Familiarity with M365 licensing models, cost optimization strategies, and usage reporting.
Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
Experience in managing user feedback, with the ability to turn insights into actionable improvements.
Know best practices for deploying new features or tools, including pilot testing, phased rollouts, and user training, ensuring successful adoption with minimal disruption.
Have a high-level understanding of data protection, encryption, regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR), and how these standards influence technical configurations and decision-making.
Be familiar with how platform configurations, such as policy settings or admin controls, affect user experience across diverse environments like desktop, mobile, and VDI.

Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of experience working with Microsoft 365, particularly in tenant management, feature deployment, and licensing management.
Certifications such as M365 Foundations, Microsoft Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, Power Platform Fundamentals, or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $81,325.15 - $112,530.66 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
