We are seeking a highly skilled Nursing Graduate to join our team at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center! This role offers the opportunity to work with diverse patient populations, providing exceptional care.

St. Mary's is a 229-bed, acute care hospital located in Enid, OK. St. Mary's Regional Medical Center has served the healthcare needs of northwest Oklahoma for more than 100 years. We host more than 125 highly skilled physicians offering specialties in Cardiology, Neurology, Orthopedics, Emergency Medicine, Rehabilitation, Laboratory, Women's Imaging, Wound Care, and more.

Position Summary:

Provides professional care for patients based on nursing protocols for non-licensed personnel. Practices nursing according to established standards of practice. After evaluation of competency the Graduate Nurse is allowed to perform all duties of a nursing assistant as well as selected other tasks learned in the school of nursing, under the supervision of a registered nurse. The Graduate Nurse will not dispense medications. The RN must be physically present in the institution, however not overseeing every activity. Performs all work with accord to the mission, vision and values of St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Patient Assessment: Conduct continuing assessments or focused assessments of an assigned patient; however, the nurse graduate shall not perform initial or change-in-condition assessment of a patient. Assessments include cardiac status, vital signs, EKG interpretation, and physical examinations.
  • Treatment and Medication Administration: Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and cardiac treatments as prescribed by physicians. Ensure accurate dosage calculations and safe administration practices
  • Patient Education: Promote patient advocacy, health promotion and teaching.
  • Quality Assurance: Adhere to hospital policies, protocols, and quality standards in the delivery of care including Service Excellence Standards. * Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes. * Provide high quality standards of patient care. This includes the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation for care in collaboration with multidisciplinary team. Accept accountability for own actions and seek guidance if situations exceed the scope of practice for a Registered Nurse. Commits to quality, best practice and environmental safety by actively reducing hazards, reporting incidents and promoting accident prevention.
  • Safety: Accurately document, observe and report relevant nurse findings, within a framework of the nursing process. Manage risk and actively work towards implementing risk reduction strategies.
  • Professional Development: Demonstrate knowledge/competency in performance of clinical skills relevant to level of expertise. Adhere to the Standards of Practice set forth by the professional nursing association guidelines for the competent, safe and professional practice.
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Must have graduated from a board approved registered nursing education program.

    Authorization to Test (ATT) is required to be submitted to St. Mary's Human

    Resources Department upon receipt. The ATT will serve as a Temporary Permit to

    practice nursing.

  • Official copy of college transcript and a copy of the diploma.

  • BLS required.

  • Must demonstrate each task before performing independently.

  • Basic computer skills required.
