Overview

The Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities (Cuyahoga DD) is seeking a Specialist to perform a wide range of technical and administrative duties to help connect individuals served to a variety of ancillary services in the community, including therapy and mental and behavioral health services. Provide technical support to individuals, families, Cuyahoga DD staff, and community services partners to ensure successful service opportunities and linkage. The nature of work will include, but is not limited to the following:

    Assist individuals, families, and Support Administrators (SAs) with connection to appropriate community service providers based on identified needs. Answer questions and provide recommendations for service providers who offer the requested service as well as support to contact preferred providers and schedule appointments.
  • Track the status of community service referrals, including individual satisfaction with the community service agency and overall service provided. Send, collect, and analyze satisfaction surveys.
  • Maintain and routinely revise the list of community agencies willing and able to serve individuals with developmental disabilities in their respective fields.
  • Identify and report concerns with community agencies to management staff. Connect these agencies to internal department management teams for any requests for additional training and support to better serve individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Track and analyze data related to these community services and related outcomes. Report data findings to management team.
  • Identify and vet new community service providers as needed/appropriate.
  • Provide technical assistance to individuals, families, SAs, SA leadership staff, and other Cuyahoga DD staff regarding available community service providers as needed.

PERSONAL CONTACTS: Frequent personal contact, telephone calls and written communication with Cuyahoga DD staff, individuals, families, and community agencies

UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Occasional travel to other Cuyahoga DD staff sites for training or to attend meetings.

* SALARY: The minimum salary for all positions in Pay Schedule B is $39,615. However, the actual starting salary will be determined based on many factors including the breadth and depth of the knowledge, skills, education and experiences brought by the candidate. Also, it is Cuyahoga DD's intent to pay each employee a salary that is reasonable and competitive based on the market rate for the position, while also considering not only internal equity but also the budgetary constraints.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Three years of clerical experience in a social service or business environment.
  • Three years of computer, data management, and customer service experience.
  • Experience building and maintaining community service/provider partnerships preferred.
  • Experience working in the developmental disabilities system preferred.
