Mercury Systems' seeks a Senior Director for the MMICs line of business. The successful candidate will be an expert in technology development and manufacturing operations and possess a strong customer-facing pedigree. The position includes customer interactions in support of the growth organization along with leading transformation efforts to drive efficiencies and scale the line of business. The successful candidate will transform the business while executing on near-term program commitments fostering a culture of teamwork, agility, and collaboration.

The Senior Director will be an exceptional leader who has a strong engineering background and experience in Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits (MMICs), Multi-Chip Modules (MCMs) and Microwave Tuner Market. The Senior Director will be an expert in product development and possess a proven background of transitioning product to production.

Job Summary:

The Senior Director will assume responsibility for leading the line of business and overseeing the execution of product and program commitments through the interaction of engineering, program management, product management and operations.

The Senior Director will provide strategic direction and overall leadership for the product lines within the business unit. As the leader of the MMICs line of business, this position has ownership throughout the product lifecycle. The lifecycle starts with a vision for technology advancement, process adherence during design and development and support of the manufacturing processes and field actions when necessary. Additionally, this position is responsible for acquiring, retaining and training talent to ensure all disciplines are properly staffed to accomplish near term and future goals.

Additionalresponsibilities include:



  • Own the P&L of the line of business.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve short-and long-termobjectives.
  • Deliver on reliability and assign clear authority and accountability, integrating and aligning efforts across team whilemonitoringprogress towardsobjectives.
  • Drive line of business growth through bid and proposal opportunities and sales activity support in collaboration with the division Growth team.
  • Lead multi-functional teams to resolve unusually complex and high priority business problems and projects.
  • Review plans, financial results, and process improvements todetermineprogress in achieving goals, and revise plans, as needed, to ensure attainment of companyobjectivesand business performance and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement clear operational metrics combined with action plans for achieving these metrics; hold the team accountable to their implementation and achievement.
  • Drive speed, quality, and cost to meet and exceed customer requirements.
  • Integrate and develop a cross functional and highly technical organization with a strong and unified culture.


Required Qualification:



  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university in an Engineering discipline.
  • 12+ years of technical experience in R&D and production, specializing in MMICs, MCMs, and tuners market to customers in Aerospace and Defense.
  • Experience leading P&L organizations with clear accountability and responsibility for delivering bookings, revenue, EBITDA and cash targets.
  • Experience withmicrowave market differentiators, key tier 2 and tier 3 industry contractors, and senior personnel, key government personnel.
  • Experience program management to include driving quality and implementation of processes.
  • Experience with product life cycle management.
  • Experience with hardware engineering and manufacturing.
  • Experience delivering results in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience taking product from engineering concept through development and ultimately transition to production.
  • Experience taking products from conception to development.
  • Experience building high-performing engineering teams.
  • Experience bringing vision and innovation to the engineering function.
  • Ability to travel as needed 25-30%.
  • This position requires you to have or obtain a government security clearance. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.



Preferred Qualification:



  • Master's in Engineeringand/or MBA
  • Demonstrated leadership style that engenders strong followership, inspires extraordinary performance and leads a team to a stated vision.
  • Effective collaboration skills and strategy development with peers and senior leaders. Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact with senior leadership.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and leading a team of direct reports consisting of product and program managers, as well a broader team of indirect reports functioning in a matrix work environment.
  • An ability to make business and technical trades and provide specific recommendations to senior management, partners, and the customer's business leaders.
  • Ability to convey information and ideas, including strong executive presence, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinker withcapacityto manage business complexity and toidentifyand focus on top priorities.
  • Existing security clearance.
