We are searching for a talented Advanced practitioner for Oncology.

Hours: 32 hrs 8A-4:30P

Shift: Day - no weekend, holiday, on-call. Carrying pager call for weeknight/Weekend responsibilities. One night a week

Location: Fairhaven & Fall River, MA

Responsibilities

  • Under the general supervision and direction of the Physician-in-Chief or designee, perform a variety of designated duties and responsibilities in collaboration with individual physicians including assessment of new and established patients.
  • In the office setting, perform comprehensive physical exams including a health history for patients with a past, current or potential diagnosis of cancer.
  • Provide care to specific populations in cancer prevention, screening, diagnosis, active treatment, palliative care and rehabilitation.
  • Work in conjunction with the multidisciplinary health care team in assessment, diagnosis and management of cancer and related disorders.


Qualifications

  • Physician Assistant: Bachelors Degree in a related field is required. Graduate of an A.M.A.-approved Physician Assistant program is required.
  • Certification from a National accrediting body to practice as a Physician Assistant is required. Nurse Practitioner: Masters of Science Degree in Nursing is required.
  • Certification from a National accrediting body to practice as a Nurse Practitioner is required. Current Massachusetts R.N. registration is required.
  • Nurse Practitioner Certificate/Physician Assistant Certificate is required.
  • Advanced Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Certification required or to be achieved within first year of employment as an ONP.
  • Minimum one year experience as an Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP) required.
  • One year experience as an Oncology Nurse Practitioner preferred.
  • Certification issued by Commonwealth of Massachusetts to practice as a Registered Nurse in an expanded role required. Current Nurse Practitioner license required.
  • Advanced Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Certification required or to be achieved within first year.
