Position Summary |
The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Department of Psychiatry, Center for Excellence in Mental Health invites applications for a full-time, fixed-term clinical instructor. The successful candidate will join
UNC Encompass as an individual therapist on a multi-disciplinary team of an
IPS/
SEES counselor, peer support specialist,
CMA, administrative assistant, case manager, individual therapist, family therapist and psychiatrist.
UNC Encompass uses a coordinated specialty care model to treat those, aged 15-30, who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis (
FEP). Position will be responsible for providing individual and group therapy as well as crisis counseling, providing Comprehensive Clinical Assessments as well as outreach, engagement, case management and community support. Participate in weekly treatment team meetings, ongoing trainings as determined by fidelity compliance, state of NC requirements and maintain licensure for role.
The physical location of the position is in Raleigh, NC but will be serving the surrounding area to include neighboring counties (Wake, Durham, Johnston, Cumberland, Franklin, Vance, Granville). The position will include community visits, virtual and office-based sessions with an emphasis on office-based.
UNC Encompass is a developing program whose members work closely together so the candidate should have a growth mindset, be flexible, adaptable, and motivated to serve individuals and their families in a recovery-based model. The successful candidate will have strong rapport building and engagement skills, successful experiences as both an independent and collaborative multidisciplinary team member, well versed in therapy modalities. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Applicant must hold a Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work. Related disciplines will be considered. Applicant must be licensed in the state of NC to provide therapy. Applicants must be comfortable in developing therapeutic relationships with patients and families newly diagnosed with psychotic disorders. They must also be comfortable travelling to multiple counties to provide services, develop relationships with service population as well as additional community stakeholders (hospitals, jails, schools, faith communities, private providers). Must be dependable, outgoing, friendly and enjoy interacting with persons from a variety of backgrounds. A positive attitude, flexibility, enthusiasm, and responsiveness to feedback is required.
* Experience and interest in outreach and engagement, developing and providing group therapy, community presentations, crisis assessment and management.
* Ability to work well in a multidisciplinary environment.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
* Interest in working with those aged 15-30 who may be experiencing a first episode of psychosis and new to mental health treatment.
* Strong therapy skills with multiple family therapy modalities, for the right candidate training may be provided. |
