The Space and Intelligence Division provides engineering services and analytic support to the Air Force, Space Force, Combatant Commands, the Intelligence Community, and NASA. Our work includes systems engineering and integration, test planning and execution, cost estimating and analysis, developing approaches and concepts to meet emerging, high priority National Defense needs, and assessing and developing cutting-edge technologies and capabilities to meet those needs.

The Space and Intelligence Division (SID)'s Intelligence Programs Group (IPG) provides outstanding support to our nation's most important Intelligence Community customers. SID/IPG has an immediate need for a highly qualified Technical Illustration Specialist to work daily on a customer site in Chantilly, Virginia. Some local short-term travel may be required.



Responsibilities

Technical Illustration Specialists provide expert-level support to senior executives in a government front office to help them address their roles and responsibilities accurately, responsively, and in a timely manner. Shall be highly knowledgeable in graphic arts, illustrations, digital visualizations, and presentations in audio and visual media. Shall be prepared to provide support in a dynamic operational environment with short turnaround cycle times and often involving complex issues, concepts, and processes. Must be able to perform with excellence in support of a wide range of graphic and digital visual aid support functions, such as the following activities:

    Translate technological concepts into finished executive-level presentations.
  • Provide a rapid turnaround capability for graphic art and multi-media presentations.
  • Provide visual aids that promote and build brand and strategic mission objectives.
  • Design and prepare various multi-media products, such as documents, graphics, charts, diagrams, maps, signage, award certificates, artist drawings, animation, visualizations, and vignettes.
  • Provide innovation for visualization techniques as applicable to forward-leaning technologies, including virtual reality and augmented reality.
  • Support digitization of multiple media formats, such as audio, video, and printed materials.
  • Support technically sound graphical representations of systems and system architectures.
  • Obtain ancillary graphic supplies, as needed.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with CI Poly at time of application
  • Master's degree in a creative arts, visual arts, liberal arts discipline or a Bachelor's degree in a similar discipline with at least 8 years of related experience
  • Minimum 10 years of working experience in government or industry in relevant work areas including: DoD/IC graphic or visualization presentation development, front office operations, or similar commercial or private industry environments
  • Proficiency in computer-based art and graphic generation tools
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Desired:

  • Additional training or certifications in computer-based graphic generation applications and tools
  • Specific work experience associated with graphic designing for sophisticated and complex DoD programs, such as space systems and satellites
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in an Intelligence Community organization's front office
  • Domain knowledge of DoD/IC operations and processes
  • Familiarity with the Tracking Information & Enterprise Response (TIER) tool
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite applications
