Overview

Position is responsible for acquiring new small business relationships and proactively deepening the relationships of small business customers with annual revenues equal to or less than $5,000,000.



Responsibilities

    Focus on acquisition of new small business relationships and retention/deepening of existing relationships
  • Responsible for loan and deposit growth, cash management, and any other product solutions appropriate for the customer base to grow market share
  • Proactively focus on acquisition of new small business relationships and retention/deepening of existing relationships by making a substantial number of outbound calls to service existing clients, to prospect for new ones, to network and to seek referrals
  • Attains an understanding of business operating cycles and the client's financial needs and strategies in order to promote lending strategies or product solutions to meet those needs
  • Develop a broad knowledge of bank products and services that results in successfully identifying appropriate opportunities to sell the bank's products
  • Compliance with established policies and procedures for commercial lending and follow appropriate controls to prudent behavior which is in compliance with the bank's risk appetite including loan and credit quality
  • Effectively manage portfolio to comply with stated goals relative to past dues, non-performing loans, risk rate identification, and collateral and financial statement exception levels
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in a business/finance associated major, or relevant job experience
  • Minimum one year of proven sales experience and or progressive small business lending or credit experience or equivalent
  • Practical working knowledge of sales principles
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, time management, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to work accurately with close attention to details
  • Proven track record of sales and outside calling skills
  • Ability to succeed in a fast paced, demanding sales culture with measured routines and goals aimed at new loan and deposit generation, cross sales, customer service and satisfaction
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Community Leadership preferred
  • Presentation Skills preferred
  • Strong computer skills preferred
  • Experience with small business lending risk analysis preferred
  • Developed an understanding of lending and credit approval process as well as pertinent bank policies and external regulations preferred
  • Prior experience with products and services offered by financial services institutions preferred
  • Ability to understand core business products and services preferred
