Provide a wide variety of park maintenance tasks and park improvements under direct supervision. These tasks are illustrative only and may include other related duties.
Eight crews of five people will work 16 hours (2 days) per week for four weeks. Crews 1 and 2 will have orientation on June 28, 2025, and will work from July 1 - July 28. Crews 3 and 4 will have orientation on July 26, 2025, and will work from July 29 - August 25. Orientation is required and lasts from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Up to five alternates may serve on an "on call" basis, throughout the entirety of the 2025 YPC season.

Essential Functions
Assists in maintenance and simple improvement in park buildings, amenities and recreation facilities.
Paints signs, buildings and other miscellaneous park facilities.
Performs simple landscaping duties, including weeding, pruning and mulching landscape beds.
Picks up litter in parks and cleans graffiti.
Performs trail maintenance and repairs.
Conforms with all safety rules and performs work is a safe manner.
Adheres to all City and Department policies.
Delivers excellent customer service to diverse audiences.
Maintains effective work relationships.
Arrives to work, meetings and other work-related functions on time and maintains regular job attendance.
Qualifications and Skills
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Effective oral and written communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills. Ability to get along well with coworkers and the public, and maintain effective work relationships.

Desire to work and learn new tasks.
Special Requirements Ability to pass a pre-employment background and/or criminal history check
Must be 15 to 17 years old and ability to provide proof of age.
Youths are eligible to work only one full season as a regular YPC crew member.
