Position Summary

The Group Director, Transformation and Operations is responsible for leading agency and client transformation initiatives while ensuring operational excellence within IW. This role involves spearheading Process, Martech, and Analytics innovation, change management, and technology enablement to deliver improved outcomes for clients and internal teams. The Group Director, Transformation will oversee both strategic and operational components, collaborating closely with the Account Leadership team, craft teams and SBU teams (search/social/programmatic) to execute high-impact transformation initiatives for the Gilead Account.

This role balances innovation with execution, ensuring that new processes, tools, and workflows are effectively implemented and integrated into day-to-day operations across client and agency. The ultimate goal is to drive transformative value for clients while standardizing and optimizing internal processes for long-term efficiency and success.

Key Responsibilities

Transformation Leadership



  • Collaborate with the client to co-create transformation initiatives that align with their business goals and industry trends. Facilitate workshops, manage cross functional teams and manage programs.


  • Lead the implementation of technologies and tools (e.g. Claravine Taxonomy, InterAct...) to enhance operational efficiency and drive innovation, specifically within the Martech landscape, ensuring compatibility with Gilead's existing systems and infrastructure.


  • Work with craft and SBU cross functional teams to identify opportunities for innovation in workflow, tools, and service delivery.
  • Stay ahead of Martech innovations, tools, and methodologies to recommend cutting-edge solutions.


Operational Excellence



  • Be the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) and manage seamless client experience for transformational initiatives such as Reporting Transformation and Goal Based Planning that cuts across crafts and SBUs.
  • Maintain and enhance the Operating Manual, playbooks, and other operational frameworks.
  • Develop and implement scalable processes, Gilead-specific templates, and toolkits tailored to client-specific needs, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Build and oversee centralized digital platforms for knowledge sharing, housing templates, tools, and thought leadership resources. E.g. Asana, InterAct Taxonomy tool...


Change Management and Training



  • Lead change management initiatives, ensuring teams and clients are onboarded to new systems, tools, and workflows with ease. For e.g. Goal Based Planning
  • Develop and deliver ongoing training programs for internal teams and clients to drive adoption of transformation initiatives.
  • Monitor adherence to updated processes and systems, providing support and reinforcement where needed.


Client Partnership and Innovation



  • Act as a strategic partner to clients, offering transformation insights and recommendations to improve service delivery and value creation.
  • Support 'Business Leadership' in actioning client feedback to improve satisfaction and operational effectiveness.
  • Foster collaboration and enablement by promoting best-in-class campaigns, case studies, and innovative approaches.


Continuous Improvement and Monitoring



  • Regularly evaluate and refine processes, tools, and methodologies to optimize efficiency and client outcomes.
  • Partner with technology teams to roll out tools and licenses while ensuring robust support systems are in place.
  • Identify and mitigate operational challenges, ensuring smooth execution of both transformation and operational objectives.
  • Provide guidance around ways of working to ensure effective cross team collaboration, push projects forward following deadlines and help project manage while partnering with client teams to gain alignment
  • Outline project roadmap and timelines, include innovation in experimentation agenda, support AI implementation and automation (dashboarding/data stream set up)


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • 10-15+ years of experience in operations management, transformation, or a related field within the pharmaceutical industry, with a proven track record of success in driving operational excellence and strategic change.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Experience with martech platforms, data management, and content management systems, demonstrating an understanding of Gilead's specific technology needs and preferences.
  • Deep understanding of pharmaceutical marketing regulations and guidelines, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences, fostering strong communication and collaboration with Gilead's team.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve ambitious goals, aligning with Gilead's vision and objectives.
  • Experience in leading and managing large-scale projects and initiatives, particularly in the areas of process optimization, technology implementation, and change management, demonstrating a track record of successful collaboration with pharmaceutical clients.
  • Strong understanding of industry best practices in operations management and transformation within the pharmaceutical industry, ensuring alignment with Gilead's standards and best practices.

The salary range for this position is posted below.
