Join our Venice Family Clinic and make a difference in the community as a Prevention Advocate for STD Testing. With guidance and supervision from the Outreach and Engagement Supervisor, the Prevention Advocate will conduct rapid and confirmatory testingonsite and in a mobile unitfor HIV, hepatitis C, syphilis, gonorrhea, and chlamydia.

Other Key Responsibilities Include:

• Utilizing motivational interviewing, to provide safe sex counseling to clients.
• Connecting clients to additional care when necessary, including ensuring that newly diagnosed HIV+ clients are linked to the medical care team. Following the harm reduction model, they will treat every person whom they interact with respect and dignity.
• Providing HIV/STD education and risk reduction interventions, condoms and general clinic information to clients.
• Coordinating and providing targeted community outreach and HIV testing and counseling; provide PrEP and PeP information and referrals.
• Ensuring linkages to care are made and followed through.
• Providing coverage for the harm reduction program, which includes providing clients with wound care, prevention education, referrals, and clean syringes at certified locations. Additionally, appropriate disposal of used syringes and ensuring all documentation meets the funding requirements.

Salary Range: $30.53 - $40.30 Hourly
