Position Highlights:

  • Position: Medical Technologist (MLS)
  • Hourly Pay Range: $28.05 - $45.69. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
  • Endeavor Health is currently conducting a comprehensive review of our compensation structure. The new minimum for this role will be adjusted to $30.46 base pay hourly rate beginning with May 2025 paychecks.
  • Location: Evanston Hospital
  • Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 10am-6:30pm, e/o weekend and rotating holidays

What you will do:

  • Evaluate and interpret laboratory test results, recording and reporting findings accurately
  • Process and prepare blood components such as red blood cells, platelets, and plasma for transfusions, following standard operating procedures
  • Conduct antibody screening and compatibility testing on blood samples, using advanced laboratory equipment and techniques
  • Maintain equipment, instruments, and supplies in good working condition, troubleshooting issues as needed
  • Ensure proper inventory management of blood products by monitoring expiration dates and maintaining appropriate stock levels
  • Adhere to quality control and quality assurance processes, performing routine checks and participating in proficiency testing
  • Performs routine processing and cryopreservation of hematopoietic progenitor cells (HPC) according to SOP, using sterile technique and following Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).

What you will need:

  • Education: Preferred: graduated from MLS (Bachelors) or MLT (Associates) program. Required (at least): Bachelor's degree in a Biological Science
  • Certification: Preferred: MLS or MLT certification
  • Experience: Preferred: Blood Bank and Cellular Therapy with one or two years of relevant clinical experience. New graduates are welcome.
  • Unique or Preferred Skills: Strong foundation in medical laboratory science. Hands-on training in blood banking procedures, Example: Antibody work-ups, titers, blood component preparation, stem cell processing, Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of blood bank regulatory and accreditation requirements.
