Job Overview

The Director of Market Unit Operations is tasked with surpassing business goals and consistently meeting financial and operational key indicators for sales and service. They work on boosting efficiency, cutting waste, saving costs, and improving metrics by collaborating with business leaders. This role also leads corporate initiatives and project management to enhance efficiency and business growth while overseeing a team of MUOPS managers supporting other market units.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Directly responsible for operational efficiency and cost improvements for a specified Market Unit through studying trends and delivery metrics on % Served and % Delivered, delivery frequency, number of off-schedule deliveries, and other cost-driving metrics; develops plans for improvement to reduce waste, increase cost savings and to increase operating efficiencies while influencing leaders to take action.
  • Manages, leads, and motivates a team of Market Unit Operations managers to deliver results by communicating company goals and deadlines; engaging and developing teammates through effective performance management, coaching, and training; implementing continuous improvement methods and embodying company purpose and values to inspire servant leadership.
  • Leads meetings with Market Unit leaders in order to create and define action plans through identifying metric-based trends centered around deliveries and service agreements that are not meeting established goals.
  • Manages the work for the defined actions plans through providing coaching and training to leaders and follows up on go-forward metrics, reporting on the success of the plan and through suggesting performance improvement opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED with 5 to 7 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, high school diploma required

Work Environment

  • Office Environment
  • Up to 50% Travel required
