Position Summary:

The Mental Health Technician (MHT) is responsible for primarily serving as a one-to-one observer for assigned patients while securing and maintaining a safe environment for the patient under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). When not assigned to the observer role Patient Care Technician duties may be delegated to the MHT. This position reports to the Workforce Management Manager.

Education/Experince:




  • A minimum of a High School diploma, GED, Certificate of Completion or equivalent achievement
  • One year work experience with children and adolescents seeking psychiatric treatment preferred.



QUALIFICATIONS:




  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, Medical Assistant (MA) certification, or one of the following:


    • A nursing student or LPN who has completed fundamental nursing skills coursework
    • An Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification





Other Qualifications:




  • Complete hospital-provided de-escalation training program within 6 months of hire.




Salary Range: Minimum $18.39 per hour - Maximum $18.39 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
