ACARA Solutions and our client in Scottsdale, AZ have a contract-to-hire position available

Release Planner
  • Running internal and customer Failure Review Control Board (FRCB) meetings.
  • Experience in negotiation.
  • As a Release Planner and FRCB (Failure Review Control Board) Champion on MUOS, you'll work with a cross-functional team responsible for overseeing the development and test planning activities for a satellite communications systems release.
  • Participating in the development of specific current release content objectives as part of a longer-term Increment Planning activity
  • Understanding the release content objective impacts each of the contributing development teams.
  • Developing a high-level understanding of system functionality to validate and communicate impacts to Configuration Items.
  • Setting up milestones, determining communication plan and top-level release development schedule.
  • Overseeing the execution of the development and testing of a release across the multiple contributing teams by coordinating, progress tracking, and cross-team communication
  • Ensuring development schedules align for efficient use of system-level lab testing/integration resources.
  • Working with other System Engineers to ensure alignment and adequacy of test planning to help guarantee smooth System Test entry and execution.
  • Interacting with program management and development leads to coordinate, negotiate, and update priorities as needed.
  • Tracking and driving resolution when teams encounter progress issues or aren't communicating effectively.
  • Communicating release development status in monthly reviews.
  • Communicate the release content scope with the deployment team and support their planning activities.
  • Helping identify process holes for lessons-learned improvement opportunities.
  • Track record for successfully planning, testing, and releasing significant software releases on schedule.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering or Science or Engineering or Mathematics.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in setting up milestones, determining communication plans, and top-level release development schedules.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in running internal and customer Failure Review Control Board (FRCB) meetings.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the art of negotiation.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree.
  • Agile experience.
  • Creative thinker motivated to apply technical standards and methodologies to develop solutions.
  • Collaborative team player who can provide technical leadership and position others for success.
  • Good presentation and communications skills and the ability to meet challenging customer requirements with win-win solutions.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others.
