Position Description:

The Senior Project Manager will work independently and in collaboration with the MCW Flourishing team of the Kern National Network for Flourishing in Medicine and under the direction of primary investigators, to manage two MCW Flourishing projects over two years. The projects include developing a Master's level degree program and piloting a learning experience on bridging practices with students. The Sr Project Manager will work with the project leads to achieve the projects' established goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, directing, controlling and coordinating of project tasks.
This is a limited-term position through December 2026. The continuation of this role will be subject to review at the end of the term.
Responsibilities:
- Working with the primary investors for each funded project, support the functions of the projects with the creation of project implementation plans by deploying project management techniques, effective communication, and group facilitation skills.
- Oversee and manage all project planning processes for the funded projects, ensuring alignment with goals and objectives.
- Assemble and lead project teams of cross-functional experts, assigning individual tasks, securing necessary resources, and meticulously developing and maintaining project schedules to ensure the timely and successful completion of projects.
- Create and execute project work plans, adjusting them as needed to accommodate changing needs, scope modifications, and evolving project requirements.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and institutional policies.
- Guarantee that all deliverables adhere to the approved project scope and meet the high standards of approved project requirements.
- Take a relational approach to work with internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead and facilitate workgroups and teams, fostering collaboration among cross-departmental and cross-organizational participants.
- Assign tasks to project team members judiciously, overseeing and ensuring the accurate and timely completion of project assignments
- Oversee the collection, analysis, and dissemination of program data; contribute to the reporting of program data and project progress.
- Develop precise project estimates, including hours, duration, cost, and resource allocation, with the support and guidance of project leadership.
- Craft and oversee effective communication plans that address all aspects of the project and tailoring messaging to suit the diverse needs of project stakeholders.
- Utilize rigorous project change control procedures to manage project scope, including costs, hours, and project duration, thereby ensuring project success even in the face of shifting circumstances

- Independently manage assigned projects, tasks and workgroups; accurately complete project within budget and by the due date with high customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrates a strong background in project management and enforces project management best practices and methodologies.
- Recognize issues and determine priority. Able to quickly isolate and independently resolve issues utilizing all available resources. Proactively prevent issues from occurring again and to anticipate future issues.
- Effectively communicate in both written and verbal form to customers and management. Able to create comprehensive documentation for all phases of the project.
- Handle stressful situations in a calm and patient manner. Must maintain a positive attitude in all situations.

M-F; Hybrid - 3 days per week onsite
Position Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.
Minimum education: Bachelor's Degree
Minimum experience: 7 years
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred education: Master's Degree
Preferred experience: Managing grant-funded research projects, especially in a higher education setting, project management experience.
