PRIMARY FUNCTION

Responsible for the design of plumbing systems for all project sizes from schematics through construction administration.

TYPICAL DUTIES

  • Responsible for plumbing system concepts and documentation process from schematics through construction administration phases.
  • Responsible for overseeing project team members and delegating tasks for plumbing system design.
  • Prepare and monitor project work plans.
  • Prepare and document required code research.
  • Attend project meetings.
  • Detailed coordination with other disciplines on a regular basis.
  • Document interpretation and submittal reviews during bidding and construction administration.
  • Monitor staff to produce high level of quality for the design of plumbing systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.


SKILL, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
  • Certified in Plumbing Design (CPD) is preferred.
  • Minimum eight years' experience in A/E industry.
  • Focused experience with plumbing systems including domestic water, waste, vent, and storm.
  • Experience with the design of lab compressed air, vacuum, and gasses is a plus.
  • Experience with the design of medical gas systems is a plus.
  • Well versed working in Revit is required.
  • Experience working with Pipe-Flo is a plus.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, and strong organizational skills.
  • Possess the ability to motivate and mentor staff and delegate work assignments.
  • Very detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic and flexible.
  • Ability to work well with others under deadline situations.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Capable of traveling to and from project sites for attending client, project and construction meetings.
  • Ability to access existing and new project sites for observation, investigation and evaluation purposes.
  • Ability to use equipment for communication and documentation purposes.
  • Visual acuity to perform responsibilities.
