How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future. This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship.

Reporting to the Director of Construction for E&C Americas, the Field Engineer at Air Liquide will play a significant part in the successful planning, organizing and implementing E&C Americas Work Processes during engineering. The Field Engineer's primary responsibilities will be on specific Project Construction Sites, located throughout the US, reporting directly to the Site Construction Manager. You will be responsible for facilitating the interface between the jobsite and the home office engineering staff for engineering site support and RFI management. Excellent communication, problem solving skills, attention to detail and an ability to work well in a team environment are considered critical to this position.

Job Responsibilities:

* Actively supports Air Liquide's commitment to safety and its "Life Saving Rules".
* Perform material takeoffs from drawings, specifications and other contract documents
* Perform basic engineering calculations and technical drafting to support field operations
* Assist Engineers to gather and prepare data for submittal or transmittal to the customer, vendors, subcontractors, governmental agencies, and internal use
* Participate in the preparation of purchase orders and subcontracts, performing minor solicitations and purchasing as requested
* Assist in the maintenance of basic project recordkeeping and correspondence functions including daily reports, photographs, requests for information (RFIs), and memorandums
* Assist with entering data into the job cost system and participate in reviewing cost reports with jobsite management
* Assist in reviewing change orders and as-built data to be reviewed by the Project Director and Site Construction Manager
* Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision
* Assist in the preparation, review, and submitting of RFI's and submittals , perform quantity calculations by taking measurements and determining
percentage of completed/installed materials and work
* Assist in the preparation of work plans and work packages
* Assist in field surveying and work layout support including elevation, control points, and compilation of as-built data
* Assist in compiling, processing, and confirming daily labor timesheets
* Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, mass safety meetings, and safety training
* Assist with the ordering and scheduling of material deliveries
* Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsite

Travel Requirements - assignments will be field positions at construction sites throughout North America with periodic stints in an office.

Physical Demands - Light physical effort required to sit or stand, reach, bend, and move about a facility (including ladders and stairs).

Overtime may be required and this role will be required to follow the project site schedule when assigned to projects.

Education & Experience

* High school diploma or equivalent required
* Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field or engineering is preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
* At least 1 year of experience in the construction field preferred
* Must have working knowledge of at least these management systems: scheduling, unit man-hour performance, material control, estimating and subcontracts.
* Experience with leadership and management of people, communication (verbal and written), planning and organization.
* Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and good organizational skills.
* Ability to perform with minimal supervision.
* Ability to work on multiple activities at one time.
* Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
* Demonstratives a proactive approach and consistently positive demeanor.
