NA Business Operations Department

As a part of the Vantage Operations team, the Business Operations department is responsible for ensuring standards for operation performance, maintaining customer leases, producing monthly customer electricity bills, generating regular reports, and supporting Operational Effectiveness. The Business Operations department also works closely with all Vantage departments to ensure customer success from the construction process through daily operations and delivery activities.

The Business Operations Program Management team (OPM), a subset of the larger Business Operations Team, provides centralized management and support for all business operations-related programs. The OPM delivers high-impact initiatives that support standardization, reduce risk, and bolster scalability. Operating with a continuous improvement mindset, the team focuses on building processes and supporting impactful outcomes. The OPM's scope encompasses all business operations programs across the organization, with a targeted focus on North America Operations while emphasizing global operational alignment. Key areas of focus for OPM programs include risk reduction, process improvement, operational efficiency, cost reduction, staffing methodologies, implementation strategy, and other strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing business operations.

Position Overview

This role can be based in Denver, CO; Atlanta, GA; or Ashburn, VA.

The Technical Writer is responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining high-quality documentation for a business operations-focused program management office. This role involves working closely with various stakeholders to produce user manuals, technical guides, process documentation, and other deliverables that support the program's objectives. The Technical Writer ensures that all documentation is clear, accurate, and aligned with the program's standards.

Essential Job Functions

Documentation Creation:

  • Write and edit user manuals, technical guides, process documentation, and other deliverables.

  • Ensure all documentation is clear, concise, and user-friendly.

  • Develop and maintain templates and style guides for documentation.

  • Ability to understand and create simple process maps

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with program managers, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather information and understand documentation requirements.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure the accuracy and completeness of documentation.

Quality Assurance:

  • Review and edit documentation to ensure it meets the program's standards for quality and consistency.

  • Implement feedback from stakeholders to improve documentation.

Process Improvement:

  • Continuously evaluate and improve documentation processes and tools.

  • Stay updated with industry best practices and incorporate them into the documentation strategy.

Content Management:

  • Organize and manage documentation in a centralized repository.

  • Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible to stakeholders.

Additional Duties:

  • Handle additional duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Information Technology, a related field or relevant technical experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in a business operations or program management environment.

  • Proven experience writing and editing technical documentation.

Skills:

  • French language proficiency (written and spoken) preferred but not required

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in documentation tools and software.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office products, including SharePoint and Visio

  • Travel required is expected to be up to 5% but may increase over time as the business evolves.

Additional Details

  • Salary Range: $90,000-$100,000 + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)

  • Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
