What you will do

The Parts Technical Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of parts received from suppliers. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to read and interpret part blueprints and engineering drawings, including AutoCAD diagrams. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally to resolve discrepancies, support returns processes, manage engineering changes, and maintain quality standards, all while contributing to overall operational efficiency within our Industrial Refrigeration facility.

How you will do it

* Identify and investigate discrepancies in parts received from suppliers during the inbound process.

* Serve as a liaison between the supply chain and purchasing teams to facilitate timely resolutions for any discrepancies in Purchase Orders (POs) in warehouse.

* Read and interpret part blueprints, engineering drawings, use quality measuring tools such as micrometers & calipers to accurately measure parts.

* Collaborate with Quality Engineer to ensure proper documentation and communication regarding parts specifications.

* Resolve engineering change requests related to warehouse flashcard updates and collaborate with suppliers to ensure accurate supply of parts. Work on kit changes as needed.

* Assist in managing the returns process for defective or incorrect parts, ensuring compliance with quality standards.

* Support carrier returns and coordinate logistics for returning parts to customers.

* Document and capture instances of in-transit damage caused by carrier and prepare customer claims as necessary.

* Create non-conformance forms for carrier damages and PO discrepancies to ensure proper follow-up and resolution.

* Work closely with the quality assurance team to ensure that returned parts meet the necessary criteria before being sent back to the supplier and bin locations.

* Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes related to parts management.

What we look for

Required

* University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5 Years suggested minimum experience with no degree.

* Proven experience in parts management, logistics, or a similar role.

* Strong ability to read and interpret part blueprints, engineering drawings and AutoCAD diagrams.

* Use of Quality tools such as micrometers & calipers

* Ability to work on-site 5 days a week

* Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities and both written and verbal communication skills.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, parts management software, and a comfort level using an ERP system like SAP, AS400, Oracle, etc.

* Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

* Knowledge of Engineering changes, Quality Control processes and Reverse Logistics (returns).
