Are you ready to make your mark? If you're a Machine Repair Technician, we have an exciting opportunity for you. Machinist reports to the manufacturing supervisor and is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining several machine types in an industrial setting. The position involves troubleshooting, moderate decision-making and problem solving. The role works under limited supervision and provides some guidance to other members. There is limited contact with external suppliers or customers. This role is for a first shift (5:00 AM- 5:30 PM) Friday, Saturday, and Sunday What You Will Be Doing Essential Functions
- Sets up and operates a variety of machine tools, such as engine lathes, milling, drilling, grinding, polishing, buffing, and CNC machining centers. Assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for equipment such as production machinery, production or development test equipment and support systems
- Understands basic electrical distribution and is able to resolve minor electrical problems with little or no assistance
- Fits and assembles parts to fabricate or repair machine tools and maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. Diagnoses and corrects minor malfunctions in production machinery and test equipment, with little assistance from more senior technicians.
- Tests faulty equipment and applies knowledge of functional operation of electronic and mechanical units and systems to diagnose cause of malfunction. Performs routine preventive maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and documents completion of these tasks in an electronic database
- Tests electronic and electrical components and circuits to locate defects, using oscilloscopes, signal generators, ammeters, and voltmeters. Coordinates and participates in installation of equipment in test fixtures, connecting valves, pumps, hydraulic, mechanical controls, and instrumentation
- Replaces defective components and wiring and adjusts mechanical parts, using hand tools and power tools. Documents mechanical or electrical problems and escalates concerns to higher level technicians. Utilizes internal and external resources to implement solutions
- Aligns, adjusts dimensions and tolerances, trouble shoots mechanical, electrical, and electronic malfunctions, using blueprints, schematics and precision-measuring instruments according to manufacturer specifications. Analyzes more advanced test results in relation to design or rated specification and test objectives; modifies or adjusts equipment to meet specifications
- Examines parts for conformance to system or component specifications using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators. Updates and maintains documentation in agreement with equipment and system changes
- Solid ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and assembly drawings for mechanical systems or machinery
- Has a solid understanding of the physical principles used in mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems

- Has solid knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems and can resolve most problems with assistance from upper level techs
- Solid ability to read and use mechanical, electrical and hydraulic schematics
