ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The Senior Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of Accounts Payable processing in a multi-entity environment. This position is best suited for a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual responsible for more complex invoicing and payment processes while providing training and support to the accounts payable team. This position offers extensive interaction with internal and external contacts in a fast-paced environment. This position reports to the Accounts Payable Manager.

OPPORTUNITIES YOU WILL HAVE IN THIS ROLE

  • Manage and administer Medius, the Accounts Payable Approval Routing System. This includes but is not limited to:
    • Manage system and multi-company settings
    • Responsible for complex user questions and problem solving
    • Liaise with Medius support
    • Provide system training to end users
    • Initiate and lead process improvement and troubleshooting resolutions
  • Setup and review new vendors and employees in the ERP system
  • Review and process invoices including purchase order-based invoices and employee expense reimbursements.
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely generation of payment runs including ACH, SEPA, FX and Checks
  • Develop and conduct training for new Accounts Payable Specialists with continued coaching and mentoring
  • Partner with the Procurement team, taking the initiative to lead the resolution of purchase order receipt and matching issues
  • Responsible for month-end closing activities, including Inventory closing activities, journal entries, reports and account reconciliations
  • Establish relationships with key vendors to ensure accurate and timely quarterly expense accruals
  • Assist in internal, external and SOX audits by providing procedures, documentation and explanations related to accounts payable as requested
  • Assist in Accounts Payable, GL entries and account Reconciliations for newly established subsidiaries
  • Responsible for testing new systems and existing system upgrades
  • Provide guidance and support to the Accounts Payable Expense team
  • Special and annual projects as needed

WHAT YOU CAN BRING TO OUR GREAT TEAM

Required:

  • Associate Degree in Business or Accounting or 2-3 years of working experience in Accounts Payable/Accounting
  • Minimum of 6-8 years' experience working in high- volume AP and Accounting department
  • Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Willingness to take the lead in meetings and projects as necessary.
  • Preferred 2+ years' experience with a large ERP system and automated Accounts Payable system
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to gather and evaluate data and information and develop recommendations and plan of action.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Sound business judgment
  • Customer service oriented with ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Ability to coach and mentor team members to create a strong team-oriented environment
  • Experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry preferred
  • Experience working in a large or growing public company preferred

Preferred:

  • BA/BS in Business, Finance or with an emphasis in Accounting
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
  • Experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry

SALARY

The salary for this position is expected to be between ($54,200 - $81,400) and will be offered at a level consistent with the experience and qualifications of the candidate. This information reflects the anticipated salary range for this position at the time of posting. The salary range may be modified in the future and actual compensation may vary from the posting based on various factors such as geographic location, work experience, education and/or skill level.
