Position Summary

The Middle Office Outsource Oversight Team is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of day-to-day investment operations. The Manager will oversee all outsourced middle office functions, including trade confirmation, settlements, failed trades, interest claims (including TMPG), corporate actions, and reconciliations. Coverage spans multiple product types: equities, fixed income, global futures and options, interest rate swaps (IRS), credit default swaps (CDS), credit indices (CDX), private debt, emerging markets, structured products, TBA mortgages, foreign exchange (FX), and collateral management for cleared and bilateral products.



Essential Duties

    Perform oversight of outsourced service providers to ensure high-quality service delivery that aligns with established SLAs and KPIs. Performance metrics must be closely monitored and reported regularly.
  • Ensure all procedures and operational controls are thoroughly documented, strictly followed, and continuously enhanced to mitigate risk and support audit readiness.
  • Act as a key liaison with portfolio management, client service, and investment teams in Los Angeles, New York, London, Tokyo, and Singapore.
  • Ensure all trades are confirmed on trade date, reconciliations are completed, corporate action instructions are accurate and submitted before intraday deadlines, and end-of-day reporting is completed, reviewed, and logged.
  • Oversee all trade communication instructions and ensure compliance with local and global trade instruction deadlines.
  • Approve changes to settlement instructions for FX, cash, and securities across all markets.
  • Serve as the escalation point for resolving settlement-related issues, including unmatched transactions, failed trades, FX discrepancies, interest claims, and overdrafts. Conduct root cause analysis and drive resolution with relevant stakeholders.
  • Support the launch of new products and markets by evaluating operational requirements and implementing process automation where feasible.
  • Oversee vendor relationships through detailed SLA and KPI reviews, ongoing performance assessments, and structured governance. Ensure issues are escalated appropriately and remediation is implemented in a timely manner.
  • Continuously assess vendor performance to identify opportunities for efficiency gains and adoption of industry best practices.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on complex operational and settlement issues to internal partners across the organization.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7-10 years' experience in a buy-side fixed income asset management environment performing similar duties
  • Deep understanding of the asset management industry, regulatory landscape, and operational best practices
  • Demonstrated proficiency in designing and maintaining robust operational controls and oversight frameworks
  • Strong knowledge of fixed income, equities, and derivatives (including FX, IRS, CDS, CDX)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; adaptable to proprietary and third-party systems
  • Preferred systems experience includes: Aladdin, Bloomberg, TradeWeb, CTM, ALERT, AcadiaSoft, FailStation

Desired Qualifications

Estimated Compensation:

Base Salary: For CA based position, the base salary range is $140k to $160k. This is an anticipated range only.

Other Compensation: Eligible to be considered for an annual discretionary bonus
