GENERAL SUMMARY: The EMG tech I is an entry level position in the Neurophysiology dept. The EMG tech I will perform the NCS nerve conduction study, including test set-up, electrode application, maintaining patient safety and other related duties. During NCS procedures for which competencies have not been achieved, the EMG tech I will train under direct technical supervision. Once training is complete and all required competencies have been achieved, the EMG tech I will perform under indirect supervision. Willing to travel to various site: Henry Ford Hospital Detroit Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital Henry Ford Lakeside Medical Center, Henry Ford Plymouth Medical Center Henry Ford Gross Point North Medical Center EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school Diploma or equivalent required. Medical background, i.e., MA, NA preferred. Six months or more experience working in a patient care environment required. Will be expected to take Registry Board exams within 2 years. Pays attention to detail, computer skills highly desirable. Must have strong communication skills.
