Overview: Senior Director of Information Technology

The Senior Director of IT is a key leadership role within the organization, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the IT department, including the management of IT infrastructure, systems, and support services. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Senior Director will manage the Helpdesk team to ensure timely issue resolution, provide ongoing support for clinical and operational functions, and ensure the security and effectiveness of all IT systems. This position plays a critical role in supporting the organization's mission to deliver quality behavioral health services through effective technology solutions.

This position is based at 151 North Main Street in Decatur, Illinois, with some flexibility for occasional remote work as needed. Occasional after-hours support may be required for system maintenance, troubleshooting, or critical IT issues.

Core Responsibilities Include:

IT Operations & Management

  1. Assist the CIO in developing and executing the IT strategy to support the CCBHC's operational and clinical needs.
  2. Oversee the daily operations of IT systems and infrastructure, including servers, networks, hardware, and software.
  3. Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of IT systems to meet the growing needs of the organization.
  4. Support IT projects, including system upgrades, implementation of new technologies, and technology integrations.
  5. Develop and monitor IT performance metrics to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Helpdesk Management

  1. Manage and mentor the Helpdesk team, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of technical issues.
  2. Develop and enforce IT support best practices, ensuring excellent user experience across the organization.
  3. Monitor helpdesk performance, track service levels, and ensure timely resolution of incidents and requests.
  4. Ensure effective documentation of issues, solutions, and user knowledge to improve support efficiency.

Collaboration with Clinical and Operational Teams

  1. Partner with clinical, administrative, and other teams to ensure IT solutions meet the unique needs of the CCBHC's operations.
  2. Provide ongoing support for electronic health record (EHR) systems, telehealth solutions, and other health IT tools.
  3. Support the implementation of new technologies that improve patient care and streamline operations.

IT Security & Compliance

  1. Ensure that all IT systems are compliant with HIPAA and other relevant regulatory requirements.
  2. Assist in the development and implementation of data privacy and security protocols to protect sensitive information.
  3. Support the IT risk management strategy, ensuring the identification and mitigation of potential security threats.
  4. Participate in IT audits and compliance reviews to maintain certification and regulatory adherence.

Vendor & Technology Management

  1. Assist in the management of relationships with IT vendors and service providers, ensuring effective support and timely issue resolution.
  2. Collaborate with the CIO to evaluate, select, and negotiate IT service contracts and vendor agreements.
  3. Ensure that all IT assets and services are effectively managed, including lifecycle planning and procurement.

Team Development & Growth

  1. Provide leadership, coaching, and training to the IT team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  2. Assist in recruiting and retaining qualified IT professionals to meet the growing demands of the organization.
  3. Encourage a collaborative work environment that promotes innovation, knowledge sharing, and problem-solving.
  4. Budgeting & Resource Management
  5. Assist the CIO in managing the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  6. Monitor IT spending, track expenses, and provide reports on budget performance.
  7. Ensure efficient allocation of IT resources across the department and organization.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365, Azure, InTune, SQL, PowerBI, User Lifecycle Management, Technology Lifecycle Management, Vendor Lifecycle Management, DR/BC, MSP/MSSP Management, Strategic Technology Planning.
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems, networks, and infrastructure management in a healthcare or behavioral health setting.
  • Experience managing helpdesk operations, including performance metrics and service level management.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems, telehealth technologies, and health information systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external vendors.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in IT management, with at least 2-3 years of experience leading or managing teams.
  • IT certifications such as ITIL, PMP, or CompTIA Network+ are preferred.
  • Experience in a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) or similar healthcare settings preferred.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and cybersecurity best practices is preferred.
  • Experience with cloud technologies and data management tools is highly recommended.

Salary Range: $95,000-$125,000 per year, dependent on education and experience
