Job Summary and Responsibilities

Acentra Health is looking for a Compliance Director to join our growing team.

Job Summary:

The Director, Compliance will provide day-to-day management of the Company's compliance program and play a critical role in ongoing program evaluation and evolution. Data collection, analysis and reporting is a critical component of this role, and the results of these activities will help the Director, Compliance recommend program changes that improve program performance and efficiencies. The Director, Compliance also will work collaboratively across the organization to advise the business on a broad range of compliance and regulatory matters, build a culture of compliance, and drive engagement that reinforces the theme that "compliance is everyone's responsibility".

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day management of the Compliance Work Program and team. Participate in delivery of core Compliance Work Program activities including, but not limited to policy development, incident management and investigation, training, conflicts management, and risk management.
  • Regularly evaluate program activities to ensure program scope and activities align with contract, accreditation and regulatory requirements, business need, and corporate objectives. Propose changes, as needed.
  • Lead development of annual communications plan and content required to execute against plan.
  • Work with the Chief Compliance Officer to conduct an annual privacy program assessment (HIPAA, state privacy laws).
  • Work collaboratively across the organization to build a culture of compliance and drive engagement that reinforces the theme that "compliance is everyone's responsibility."
  • Conduct research on state and federal regulatory matters relevant to Company's business and contracts; provide guidance to operational teams, as needed.
  • Draft, review and monitor policies for compliance with laws; assist business with interpretation and application of policy, as needed.
  • Build out and manage compliance reporting program including, but not limited to, data collection, program performance reporting and reports to leadership.
  • Consistently meet defined performance standards to assure prompt, effective and courteous delivery of compliance services.
  • Gain knowledge and make competent use of modules, workflows, assessments, folder structures, programs and plug-ins of Company's contract and compliance management platforms. Make recommendations to improve processes, efficiencies and outcomes.
  • Support review and investigation of compliance incidents including, but not limited to privacy incidents, policy violations, and potential conflicts of interest.
  • Serve as the Chief Compliance Officer's designee for various meetings and initiatives, upon request.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.
  • 5+ years' healthcare compliance experience required
  • 5+ years' experience managing programs, people, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Min of 3 years' of experience managing health care or social service programs may be substituted for health care compliance experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret and apply performance data, regulatory requirements, contract requirements, internal policies and controls and accrediting body guidelines and technical procedures.
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into clear and concise summaries (verbal and written) and reports for varied audiences.
  • Ability to deploy a project management approach to ensure proper engagement of critical stakeholders and maintenance of clear and open communication with all stakeholders. Strong collaboration and relationship management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Medicaid, Medicare or other government health programs strongly preferred.
  • Law degree from an accredited university preferred.
  • CHC or similar preferred
  • Customer-focused approach (internal and external).
  • Working knowledge of MS SharePoint preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Manage multiple projects on different timelines and simultaneously.
  • Strong research, analysis, and writing skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills including time and project management skills.
