Position Summary

Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Configuration Manager providing A&AS support to the AFLCMC/HBG C2ISR Division. HBG C2ISR Division provides support for all the weapon systems, platforms, cells, and capabilities managed by the C2ISR Division in support of AFLCMC/HB, and other classified programs designated under HBG or extensions of HB under C2ISR.



Responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines related to Configuration and Data Management (CDM) for assigned weapon systems.

Duties include, but not limited to:

    Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that weapon systems and products meet all relevant laws, regulations, policies, and guides related to Configuration and Data Management (CDM).
  • Data Management: Oversee and manage data related to the functional, allocated, and product technical baselines for assigned products and programs.
  • Deficiency Reporting & OSS&E Support: Provide support for Deficiency Reporting (DR), Engineering Data Management (DM), and Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E) processes.
  • Systems Engineering Documentation: Document and maintain records of systems engineering activities, ensuring approved configuration information accurately details system or product characteristics.
  • Configuration Management Activities: Execute Configuration Planning, Identification, Status Accounting, Verification & Audits, and Change Control activities in alignment with applicable organizational policies, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Process Improvement & Policy Development:
    • Develop, review, and recommend updates to Configuration Management Plans (CMP), Integrated Master Plans (IMP), organizational Data Strategy Plans (DSP), and Intellectual Property and Data Rights strategies.
    • Identify Configuration Management (CM) and Data Management (DM) requirements for acquisition documentation, including Statements of Work (SOWs), Acquisition Strategy Plans, and technical process guides.
  • Configuration Verification & Audits:
    • Plan, conduct, and manage system verification reviews, functional and physical configuration audits, and other verification activities.
    • Ensure compliance with technical documentation, including test plans, test procedures, engineering data, software version descriptions, and specifications.
  • Configuration Control Board (CCB) Management:
    • Administer and oversee the Configuration Control Board (CCB) process for assigned programs.
    • Prepare and maintain CCB documentation, including Directives, Agendas, Meeting Minutes, Member Lists, CCB Charter, and presentation materials.
    • Directly support the CCB Chair in executing CM activities.
  • CM Execution & Compliance: Ensure that Configuration Management (CM) requirements are properly executed for all assigned programs and tasks.
  • Software & Technical Data Management: Maintain records related to performance, qualification, fabrication, and acceptance requirements, including the production of Software (SW) release notes.
  • Policy Development & Standardization:
    • Develop and refine CM procedures to meet evolving program requirements.
    • Work closely with the Division CM team to standardize CM processes and tools across the organization.
  • Deficiency Reporting & Material Improvement Projects:
    • Track and manage Deficiency Reports (DRs), supporting Material Improvement Project Review Board (MIPRB) activities.
    • Ensure compliance with Technical Order (TO) 00-35D-54 and recommend updates to the DR MIPRB Charter to align with best CM practices.
  • Risk & Requirements Management: Provide, track, and manage data necessary to support CM, DM, Quality Assurance (QA), requirements analysis, risk management, and OSS&E activities to ensure compliance with CMP and Air Force Systems Engineering Assessment Model (SEAM) best practices.


Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Minimum Required Qualifications

Clearance: Active Top Secret Clearance

Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five of which must be in DoD acquisition. Or,

    • 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications

Certifications:

  • Systems Engineering Qualification
  • CM Certification in any of the categories below
    • National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) CDM Certification, or
    • Configuration Management Principles and Implementation Certification (CMPIC), or
    • The completion of DAU Certification CLCL 010 Technical Data Management Credential.

Technical Skills

  • CM/DM experience supporting AF LCM of weapon systems or weapon system products, identifying CM/DM requirements and deliverables for weapon systems, and validating and
    verifying CM/DM product deliveries to ensure adherence of the product to identified requirements.
  • Experience with tasks related to ensuring program compliance with EIA-649-1 CM, DoDI 5000.88 Engineering of Defense Systems, MIL-HDBK-61 CM Guidance, the AF Data Rights Guidebook, AFMCI63-1201 Implementing OSS&E, and Life Cycle Systems Engineering, the DoD Systems Engineering Guidebook section 4.1.6, DoD 5010.12-M Procedures for the Acquisition and Management of Technical Data, MIL-STD-31000B, Technical Data Packages, MIL-STD-963 Standard Practice for Data Item Descriptions (DIDs), DoD 5010.12-M Procedures for the Acquisition and Management of Technical Data, DoDI 5230.24 Distribution Statements on Technical Documents, and the AFLCMC Contract DM Standard Process
