Certified Medical Assistant

Orthopedic Surgery - Logan Ave

Full-time: 1.0FTE, Monday-Friday, Daytime hours


Responsibilities
  • Clinical Support:

    • Assist in preparing and applying casts and orthopedic appliances.
    • Perform in-office X-rays as directed by the physician.
    • Fit and apply pre-operative braces, crutches, and other orthopedic devices.
    • Provide patient education on cast care and the use of orthopedic appliances.
    • Assist with orthopedic procedures performed in the office under physician supervision.
    • Prepare and set up traction as requested by the physician.
  • Administrative Support:

    • Manage patient scheduling and coordinate appointments.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
    • Handle patient communications, including follow-up calls and reminders.
    • Assist in ordering and maintaining medical supplies and equipment.

Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assisting program accredited by a recognized body.
  • Certifications: Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through American Medical Technologists (AMT), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
  • Experience: Previous experience in a clinical setting, preferably in orthopedics, is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong clinical and administrative skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
    • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology and orthopedic procedures.
