DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Medium Voltage Electrician, you will perform technical and skilled duties to maintain, repair, monitor, and operate electrical power distribution systems and associated equipment with a voltage below 23,000 volts at Fort Indiantown Gap. You will install, repair, and replace transformers, switchgears, emergency standby generators, air and oil circuit breakers, cables, synchronous motors, and other electrical equipment. You will also, maintain ultraviolet (UV) light at the Sequential Batch Reactor (SBR) at the Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP). This role requires the ability to perform assigned electrical work independently while resolving operating problems and maintaining required assignment records. In addition, you will read blueprints and schematic diagrams to resolve electrical system problems, operate a lift or bucket truck to make electrical repairs, and maintain knowledge of current electrical regulations and code requirements.

- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.
- Overtime as needed
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Essential Employee: You will be required to work during emergencies and office closings.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Five years of journey-level experience in the electrical trade; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Condition of Employment:
- You must be in possession of a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.
Additional Requirements:
- You must pass a favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Formal training (high school or vocational program, apprenticeship, or post-high school technical program) in the electrical trade
- Licensure as a journey electrician or master electrician
- Experience as an electrician
- Experience working with generators
- Previous experience working from construction sketches, diagrams, and/or blueprints in the electrical trade
