Position Description
Contributes to the university's mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Contributes to the university's mission through teaching, research and service, with some variation by academic unit.
  • Teaches one or more subjects as assigned by the academic unit in the areas of graduate education in population health (MSN and/or DNP) or health policy at the DNP level.
  • Prepares and delivers online instruction in these area(s) to students via previously designed course modules with revisions as needed.
  • Provides oversight for MSN and/or DNP students conducting projects aimed at improving patient care, health care systems or population health.
  • Stimulates class discussions.
  • Carries out all areas of course instruction to include course orientation, discussions, meeting with students as needed, grading assignments as well as reporting final grades.
  • May supervise subordinate employees assigned to area of responsibility.
  • Able to perform professional level work at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center by conducting classes on a per-course or limited-term basis, without any guarantee of continuing employment.
  • Other duties as needed.


Occasional Duties


Required Qualifications
  • Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) and DNP, PhD or EdD equivalent.
  • Unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Texas.
