This role requires strong technical expertise in geotechnical engineering, focusing on the design and analysis of earth structures, marine foundations, and heavy-lift foundation support. The candidate will assess soil and rock conditions to ensure stable foundations and safe infrastructure, addressing environmental aspects and collaborating with multi-discipline teams. This role is open to remote, hybrid or in-office work. Primarily Responsibilities: Earth Structures & Foundations: Design, construction, and finite element analysis. Perform geotechnical analysis, design calculations, and ensure soil stability for heavy civil projects Marine Structural Foundations: Pile driving analysis, dynamic pile testing, CAPWAP. Collaborate with structural engineers to create complementary foundation designs Heavy-Lift Foundations: Evaluate soil and rock properties, load-bearing capacity, and ground improvement. Address environmental impacts and ensure sustainable practices General Geotechnical: Collect data, analyze slope stability, manage groundwater, and assess geotechnical risks. Use tools like AutoCAD for design and decision-making Project Management: Assist with proposals, reports, and project phases. Coordinate tasks, review junior staff work, and ensure high-quality deliverables Field Work & Construction Support: Prepare design calculations, coordinate field work, provide construction observations, and perform site visits to analyze data Required Qualifications: Experience: 10+ years with an engineering consulting firm performing civil engineering work with a geotechnical focus in heavy civil design and construction Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related field Certification: Professional Engineering Certification (PE) Preferred Qualifications: Education: Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related field Why Foth: Established Reputation : With over 86 years of experience, we are proud to be 100% member-owned.
