The Role:

As QuidelOrtho continues to grow and serve a large, global customer base and technical service and support organization, we are seeking a Digital Media Specialist to work in our Global Learning and Development team. This role is responsible for creating training and marketing videos that are instructionally sound, informative, and engaging.

The Digital Media Specialist must be able to independently organize and manage every aspect of video and digital asset production, including evaluating scripts/treatments, preparing shot lists, understanding shot composition, calibrating lighting and sound, and getting a high-quality performance out of on-camera talent. This person must also be able to successfully manage a fast-paced post-production process, including editing video, voiceover, and music; incorporating on-screen text, graphics, and effects; incorporating input from reviewers and stakeholders; adding subtitles and translations; and adhering to brand standards. Strong organizational skills, self management, and self motivation are critical skills.

This position may also be responsible for managing our video production and hosting systems, administering streaming video servers, monitoring and working with emerging technologies, and producing remote/virtual training sessions from our customer training studio in Rochester, NY.

The Responsibilities:

  • Digital video/asset post-production (editing; incorporating voiceover, music, graphic elements, and reviewer feedback)
  • Production (leading multi-camera video shoots; tracking shot lists; setup; lighting; recording sound; capturing video; managing footage)
  • Pre-production (establishing production design; scouting locations; securing talent and extras)
  • Developing digital assets, video enhancements, animations/effects, and still using Adobe Creative Suite tools
  • Project management and meetings
  • Working with stakeholders (gathering project needs; providing status updates; final delivery)
  • Administering video tools and hosting systems
  • Direct livestreaming of Virtual Instructor Led Training (webinars) through a streaming platform such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams

The Individual:

  • Associate's degree (or higher) in Graphic Design, Broadcast, Film/Video production, or Visual Communications or related field (or equivalent) experience

3+ years of experience performing the following job tasks in a professional capacity:

  • Digital video/asset post-production (editing; incorporating voiceover, music, graphic elements, and reviewer feedback)
  • Production (leading multi-camera video shoots; tracking shot lists; setup; lighting; recording sound; capturing video; managing footage)
  • Pre-production (establishing production design; scouting locations; securing talent and extras)
  • Developing digital assets, video enhancements, animations/effects, and still using Adobe Creative Suite tools
  • Project management and meetings
  • Working with stakeholders (gathering project needs; providing status updates; final delivery)

1+ years of experience performing the following job tasks in a professional capacity:

  • Administering video tools and hosting systems
  • Creating motion graphics, color correction, and understadning video codecs, encoding, and compression
  • Direct livestream of Virtual Instructor Led Training (webinars) through a streaming platform such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams
  • Performing other work-related duties as assigned

Preferred skills:

  • Script writing
  • Recording and producing voiceover
  • Using AI tools to generate voiceover and/or edit videos and photo

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on that facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $58,000.00 - $79,000.00 and is bonus eligible. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time) and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
