Position Description:

The Information Services (I.S.) Support Technician provides technical support to multiple facilities across the Region, including hospital staff and physicians, as well as internal and external employees. Provides Tier II support
issues regarding hardware, software, and networking for Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS) technical assets.End user issues are reported by using different mediums of communication including primarily online work-orders,
phone, instant messaging, and in-person. The Information Services (I.S.) Support Technician is responsible to ask appropriate questions and makes informed decisions using tools including an online knowledge base. Issues that
require higher level of troubleshooting are escalated using the online trouble ticket system to the appropriate Tier III support staff member. The I.S. Support Technician is accountable for groundwork including installation and
maintenance of end-user workstations, hospital issued phones, and peripherals connected to the workstations

Essential Job Duties:

  • Provides Tier II Helpdesk support.
  • Responds to user requests for service; troubleshoots problems and develops minor repairs to equipment and arranges for other servicing needs.
  • Installs and maintains all levels of desktop equipment and related peripherals.
  • Advises supervisor on equipment requirements and problem areas and makes recommendations for
    solution of problems.
  • Maintains inventory of end-user desktop equipment (PC's, printers, phones and etc.)
  • Troubleshoots all desktop hardware and application issues.
  • Setup of new computers including network connections, Windows Operating System, and
    installation of all desktop peripheral equipment as consistent with configuration standards.
  • Works collaboratively with other IS team members to deliver excellent customer service in solving
    computer problems expeditiously.
  • Participates in creating an effective multidisciplinary approach in meeting Information Systems
    challenges.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of process improve projects, ensuring the
    continued delivery of quality products and services.
    Manages assignments received by Helpdesk Technician using work orders received in the CA Service Desk System.
  • Provides prompt and accurate technical support ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Uses
    courtesy and professionalism to answer and assist with helpdesk calls.
  • Assists users with troubleshooting of hardware (PC, printer, and scanners) and application software
  • issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Technical Services Manager.
  • Will be required to perform after hours on-call support on a routine basis.

Qualifications

Job Duties/Responsibilities Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or equivilent required
    Associate's degree from an accredited College or University in computer related field, trade school
    certificate in computer related studies, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
    One (1) to two (2) years of experience in computer hardware, software, break/fix and troubleshooting
    experience required, acute care setting preferred.
    One (1) to two (2) years of experience providing customer support for Windows 10 in an enterprise
    environment required, acute care setting preferred.
  • A+ or N+ certification desired.
    Must have valid California Driver's License and reliable transportation. Job requires travel between
    facilities on a daily basis.
