Volunteer and Customer Care Coordinator

The Volunteer and Customer Care Coordinator is responsible for maintaining assigned aspects of the Volunteers and Customer Care programs. Ensures information systems are developed and maintained to support effective operations.




  1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.
  2. *Supports entity leadership in developing and maintaining the Volunteer program; performs recruitment, retention, interview and placement activities; provides general and area orientation, training, staffing/scheduling, evaluation, recognition and coaching.
  3. *Ensures computer information systems are developed and maintained to support an effective operation including volunteer scheduling and departmental reports and statistics.
  4. *Secures substitutes for selected volunteer openings.
  5. *Supports leadership in developing and maintaining the Customer Care program and activities.
  6. Develops and oversees Guest Services programs that enhanced the patient and family experience.
  7. Collaborates with and provides direction to KRMC Gift Shop on essential products and services that support the needs of our customers.
  8. Supports vision of entity leadership in developing and executing a chaplaincy program to make services available to patients and families.
  9. *Serves as a resource to volunteers and internal/external customers to create an environment that fosters outstanding customer service in accordance with the mission, vision, values and beliefs of Kearney Regional Medical Center.
  10. Actively identifies growth and expansion opportunities for volunteer and care coordination programs.
  11. Participates in professional development education and meetings as appropriate.
  12. Maintains departmental space, equipment and supplies in an efficient and neat manner.
  13. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

  1. Participates in and/or leads meetings, committees, strategic planning, and lean projects as assigned.
  2. *Oversees the departmental budgetary procedure to ensure proper operational and capital planning, appropriate and efficient use of resources, and consistent compliance to budgetary and fiscal controls.
  3. *Responsible for hiring, training, supervising, coaching, mentoring, retaining, and evaluating of staff.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree required. Minimum of one (1) year volunteer experience, program management and/or supervisory experience required.
