The Opportunity
We are looking for a Data Science Ecosystem Lead to build the foundation that will enable scalable, efficient, and impactful data science across our organization. Our team consists of multiple data science and analytics groups working on everything from media optimization to causal inference, and we need the right infrastructure in place to ensure their work is reproducible, discoverable, and production-ready. Today, data scientists face challenges like fragmented workflows, manual processes, siloed outputs, and limited insight into past work. This role is an opportunity to tackle those problems by improving both the day-to-day experience of data scientists and the long-term leverage of their work.
What you'll Do
- Modernize data science workflows: Help move teams from manual development (e.g., working with spreadsheets or local code) to streamlined, automated, and collaborative workflows that support experimentation, versioning, and deployment.
- Partner with engineering to design systems that allow data science models to be deployed, monitored, and maintained in production, with appropriate ownership by DS teams.
- Make insights and outputs accessible and reusable. Solve the problem of lost or siloed knowledge by designing ways to capture and organize models, analyses, and findings so that others can find and build on past work.
- Enable consistency without limiting flexibility. Find opportunities to standardize how data scientists run models, track results, or document findings, without slowing them down or forcing a one-size-fits-all approach.
- Act as a connector across teams. Bridge the gap between data science, analytics, and engineering - translating needs, shaping priorities, and influencing how infrastructure investments are made.
Required Qualifications
- MS/PhD or equivalent experience in Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Has worked directly on building or improving tools, systems, or workflows for data scientists.
- Can understand, reimagine, and connect the dots across messy, end-to-end DS/analytics processes.
- Can influence and align diverse users without formal authority.
- Able to translate DS needs into platform requirements and co-develop solutions with engineers.
- Communicates clearly with both technical and business audiences; knows how to align priorities and set expectations.
- Comfortable taking loosely defined goals and turning them into concrete proposals and roadmaps.
- Hands-on familiarity with data science workflows and pain points
- Knows what it takes to move models from experimentation to live environments with monitoring and ownership.
- Proficiency in Python/R, and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) for scalable model training and deployment.
- Experience with MLflow for managing E2E ML lifecycle
- Proven ability to build collaborative, multi-functional relationships.
- A curious, motivated approach with a passion for learning new skills, tools, and techniques!
