Private Duty LPN - PRN - Chattanooga, TN (East Ridge)

Overview
We're hiring a PRN LPN to support a 24/7 in-home case in the East Ridge area of Chattanooga. This is a one-on-one private duty opportunity caring for a young male patient in a home setting. Ideal for nurses who want to make an impact without committing to a full-time schedule.

12-hour shifts: 7am-7pm

Young male patient
Ventilator and tracheostomy dependent

Requirements

Must be trach/vent certified (training available)
Minimum of one year of nursing experience due to the training required for ventilator certification

Responsibilities

* Perform selected nursing procedures within the scope of LPN practice
* Provide patient and family education according to plan as outlined by the RN
* Monitor patient's vital signs and make specific measurements and observations
* Monitor and record intake and output, and report significant changes immediately
* Observe, assess and record patient's physical and mental condition and report any changes
* Administer medications as instructed and ordered by the physician and instructed by the RN
* Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-service education programs, as assigned

Qualifications

* Active LPN license in good standing
* Previous home health, private duty, skilled nursing or hospital experience preferred
* Ability to build rapport with patients and family members
* Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
* Reliable transportation or valid driver's license with current automobile insurance
