Position Details:

The Child Mind Institute is looking for an Accounts Payable Coordinator to act as an important member of the Finance team, responsible for all accounts payable activities for multiple entities. Working under the direction of the Manager of Business Services, the Accounts Payable Coordinator verifies and enters invoices into Sage Intacct, prepares weekly AP aging report, ensures that contact database and consultant contracts are accurately maintained, prepares remote check deposits to the bank and prepares 1099s after a year-end.

Reporting to the Manager of Business Services, this a non-exempt, full time, hybrid position (in office 4 days per week) located in our Midtown, New York office.

You Will:

  • Process all accounts payable activities for multiple entities including verifying and entering invoices
  • Prepare weekly Accounts Payable aging report
  • Field vendors' inquiries and respond in a timely manner
  • Ensure that vendor contact database and consultant contracts are accurately maintained
  • Prepare remote check deposits to the bank
  • Prepare 1099s
  • Help with the month-end close process
  • Help prepare schedules and analysis for the annual financial audit
  • Other job-related tasks as assigned

You Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of nonprofit accounting experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience communicating and explaining complex financial information
  • Experience manipulating, organizing and presenting large amounts of data
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office. Advanced skills in Excel required
  • Experience with non-profit enterprise software, such as SAGE Intacct, Expensify, Workday, Financial Edge, or similar required

Pay Range

The salary range for the position is posted. Factors such as candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations affect the salary offered within this range. In addition, this salary may be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state and depending on the role), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
