Position Overview:

The primary focus of this role will be to manage federal civil engineering and planning projects ensuring delivery of high-quality work products and execution of production operations. The position provides limited consultation to clients and applies expertise to guide project teams in research, preparation and delivery of plans, designs, documents, and specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Produces designs and manages projects which may include site planning, horizontal layout, grading, stormwater collection and management facilities, potable/reuse water systems, gravity sanitary sewer systems, pump stations, erosion control and maintenance of traffic.
  • Produces technical letters/reports such as due diligence packages, calculation books, traffic reports, customer concept documents, and charrette reports.
  • Performs field reviews, certifications, and post design services.
  • Identifies, develops and implements technical tools, techniques, software, materials and processes to optimize efficiencies and quality.
  • Actively contributes ideas, expertise and recommendations based upon industry knowledge.
  • Performs technical and quality reviews of plans and specifications.
  • Supports planning staff.
  • Participates in client, stakeholder, customer, agency, and consultant meetings.
  • Prepares/Reviews fee and scope documents for clients.
  • May transport materials including samples, supplies, and survey equipment.
  • Become proficient in Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) for Federal projects.
  • Adaptive to different state and local criteria for design.
  • Local and out of state travel required up to 15%.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, related field or equivalent relevant work experience is required.
  • Professional Engineer Registration (State of Florida).
  • 5 years' experience in civil engineering, land development or project management.
  • Possesses a comprehensive understanding of all permitting within area of expertise including local, state and federal agencies.
  • Possesses a general understanding of entitlement processes.
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally to client, consultant, job site, agency and work locations, as needed.
