The Role

The Plant Custodian is responsible for maintaining cleanliness of general plant area and specialized areas (laboratories, cleanrooms, & restrooms, etc.) to ensure compliance as required by any regulatory and in-house procedural requirements.

This role is located in Athens, Ohio.

The Responsibilities
  • Cleans and sanitizes restrooms using established practices and procedures.

  • Uses and maintains assigned equipment (e.g. auto scrubber, side by side, vacuums, brooms, mops) for general cleaning.

  • Removes basic waste and recycled materials to respective containers located outside the facility.

  • Supports and follows all internal policies, OSHA, health and safety regulations and guidelines.

  • Follows fire safety procedures and regulations.

  • Assists in the cleaning of specialized areas (cleanrooms and general laboratories).

  • Cleans all accessible interior windows as directed.

  • May be required to activate facility security system via assigned access code.

  • May assist w/general maintenance duties from time to time such as moving furniture, pallets of materials, assembling office furniture, minor wall patching, and painting, etc. as assigned.

  • Works alone most of the time without supervision.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

The Individual

Required:

  • High School diploma or GED

  • 3 years' experience in the area of building services

  • Basic computer skills including Internet and Email

  • Work history of good attendance and promptness

  • This position is not currently eligible for visa sponsorship

Combination of laboratory, warehouse and office environment.

The Physical Demands

Excellent manual dexterity required. The ability to lift 40 lbs. from the ground to 4 ft. and ability to perform activities such as pushing, pulling, and moving furniture, equipment, or machinery. The ability to walk, bend, stand, and lift without constraints.
