Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and passionate CXECS Intern to join our Customer Experience and Emerging Customer Solutions team. The ideal candidate will have basic Java/UI skills and a keen interest in software engineering. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to innovative projects that enhance the customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Software Development:

    • Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of software applications using Java/UI or other programming languages.
    • Contribute to the coding, testing, and debugging of software components.
    • Collaborate with the team to implement user interfaces and improve user experience.
  • Project Involvement:

    • Participate in project planning and execution, ensuring timely delivery of deliverables.
    • Work on relevant projects that align with the team's goals and objectives.
  • Problem-Solving:

    • Analyze and resolve software-related issues, providing effective solutions.
    • Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Database Management:

    • Utilize general database knowledge and basic SQL skills to manage and manipulate data.
    • Support the design and implementation of database structures and queries.
  • Collaboration and Communication:

    • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to gather requirements and provide updates.
    • Participate in team meetings, contributing ideas and insights to enhance project outcomes.
  • Learning and Development:

    • Demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation and a passion for learning new technologies and skills.
    • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in software engineering and customer experience.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous software engineering internship and/or relevant project experience.
  • Programming skills in Java/UI or other programming languages.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High degree of self-motivation, passion, and a strive to learn.
  • General database knowledge and basic SQL skills.
  • Object-oriented design (OOD) skills.

$23.25

Maximum:

$30.00

Pay rates for internships are determined based on academic tenure and major.

Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Please note that the salary range listed in the posting is the standard pay structure. Positions in certain locations (such as California) may provide an increase on the standard pay structure based on the location.
