Job Summary: The Product Support General Sales Manager is responsible for the successful management and direction of the Product Support Sales Department.

The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices daily: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.

Essential Functions:



  • Hires, develops, evaluates, and influences effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of Legendary Customer Service (LCS)
  • Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
  • Develops and coaches the Product Support Sales Management and Sales Force using established influencing strategies and leadership practices
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements strategies for business growth and development inside of the Product Support Sales Group
  • Coordinates and collaborates with the Regional Parts and Service Managers to effectively manage customer satisfaction
  • Liaisons between Caterpillar District Product Support and Executive Leadership at HOLT to maximize strategy execution
  • Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Strong technical aptitude and understanding of construction equipment
  • Knowledge of business accounting principles, budget preparation, and strong business acumen
  • Computer skills and demonstrated skills with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to engage with vendors, own staff, and corporate executives to exchange information, influence and persuade
  • Strong management skills to direct, coach, and sales team to increased revenues using the sales tools, techniques, and market information
  • Excellent oral and written communication skill
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and conceptual skills
  • Exceptional planning, organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills
  • Driven and results oriented; business development, KPIs, and market expansion to meet corporate targets
  • Ability to operate a variety of communications equipment and information transmitting devices
  • Ability to work with all levels of personnel within the organization and customer operations
  • Ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division quickly and accurately
  • The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
  • Consulting and influencing abilities



Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Administration, Sales, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of three years of related experience required; five or more years' preferreD


Supervisory Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and development; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Travel:



  • Travel up to 40% of the time and overnight stays will be required as necessary
  • Valid driver's license



Physical Requirements:



  • This position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally, occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, etc.


  • This role frequently communicates with others, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations


  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines


  • Must be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue


  • Occasionally moves materials or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.


  • Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina



Work Environment:



  • This job is generally performed in a professional office environment


  • Occasionally works outdoors and may be exposed to weather extremes conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity


  • Requires working in a closed vehicle or equipment


  • Frequently works at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions


  • Includes some exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable
