Summary:

This position will report to the Sr Director - Engineering as a part of the Terminals Operating Segment. Primary focus is to provide Process Engineering and Optimization support to the following assets:



  • 8 NGL Fractionation Plants with a combined capacity over 1.15 million bbl/d
  • 60+ million barrels of Salt Dome Storage capacity
  • Marine NGL Export Facility with over 500k bbl/d export capacity



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Provide process engineering support for the Mont Belvieu NGL Fractionation Complex and Mont Belvieu Terminal Storage facilities located near Mont Belvieu, TX.
  • Implement entire project life cycle for small to mid-size maintenance and capital growth projects including scope development, design, material procurement, construction, commissioning, and project completion.
  • Work with Operations, Maintenance, Technical Operations and Engineering personnel to analyze and improve existing processes to maximize productivity, reduce operating costs, improve profitability, and comply with regulations and engineering standards.
  • Work closely with Project Directors/Managers responsible for development and execution of large-scale Capital Growth projects
  • Work with Business Development/Commercial in the development of optimization, debottlenecking, and growth projects.
  • Take part in PSM activities for area facilities. (attend PHA's, maintain facility drawings, resolve PHA action items, etc.)
  • Maintain facility process simulations and work with other process engineers to develop process solutions while following engineering standards, code compliance, company and safety standards, and good engineering practices.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to broaden and deepen process engineering and project management knowledge base and proficiencies.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:





    • A Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (preferably Chemical, Mechanical, or Natural Gas)
    • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Process Engineer in oil/gas or related industry
    • Highly motivated with a consistent drive for growth and development
    • Solution oriented mindset and ability to apply Critical Thinking skills
    • Organized and able to effectively prioritize tasks
    • Strong verbal and written communications skills
    • Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority
    • Team player with a willingness to assist outside of own discipline
    • Proficiency utilizing Engineering Process Simulation Programs (ProMax, Hysys, etc.)
    • Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Suite applications


    Preferred Qualifications:

    In addition to the requirements listed above, we value candidates with any of the following qualifications:



    • Experience with NGL/LPG facilities
    • Experience with PSM facilities and PHA/LOPA processes
    • Operations, Maintenance or Technical Operations experience in the Midstream industry
    • Master's Degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, etc)
    • Professional Engineer (PE) License
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification


    Level is commensurate with candidates appropriate experience

    Working Conditions:

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.



    • Required to live within 45 minutes of the reporting location.
    • Normal office working conditions and field work.
    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
    • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
    • Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment will occur.
