Responsible for leading the development and delivery of robust, scalable, consumable, and sustainable data management and infrastructure solutions across Workforce (HR), Financial, Sales, Marketing, Operational, Supply Chain, and Transportation systems, optimizing the way data is ingested and prepared. Essential Functions
- Develops curated, standardized, and analytics-ready data layers within the Azure ecosystem, using tools such as Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and Synapse to enable scalable reporting, dashboarding, and data science use cases.
- Takes ownership of the downstream data pipeline development process after raw data has landed, transforming complex, raw datasets into structured formats optimized for consumption by analytics and business intelligence teams.
- Leverages legacy systems for data extraction and understanding, supporting the migration and modernization of existing processes into cloud-native architectures.
- Collaborates closely with data analysts, business consultants and stakeholders to define and implement high-value datasets, metrics, and data products aligned with strategic objectives.
- Designs robust, maintainable, and automated pipelines that drive consistency, traceability, and accuracy across data assets consumed by reporting and modeling teams.
- Applies advanced knowledge of data modeling, performance optimization, and metadata management to support trusted, reusable data assets across domains.
- Supports governance, quality, and documentation efforts to ensure that curated datasets meet compliance, transparency, and usability standards across the organization.
- Provides guidance to upstream data engineering and source system teams on optimal data structures, formatting, and delivery methods to ensure alignment with downstream analytical and reporting requirements.
- Acts as a key advisor in data architecture discussions, influencing how data should be modeled, partitioned, and ingested to support scalable and efficient analytics within the Azure environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Expertise in building curated, standardized, and analytics-ready data layers for downstream consumption.
- Proficiency in Microsoft data analytics tooling, including Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and Synapse Analytics.
- Strong SQL development skills and experience working with large-scale, structured datasets.
- Experience designing data models optimized for analytics, reporting, and data science (e.g., dimensional modeling, feature engineering).
- Ability to advise on modern data architecture best practices, including how data should be structured and landed to support scalable analytics.
- Skilled in collaborating with upstream data engineering and source system teams to influence ingestion standards and data delivery requirements.
- Knowledge of metadata management, data lineage, and documentation practices that ensure transparency and trust in data assets.
- Strong understanding of data pipeline orchestration and automation to support reusable, maintainable solutions.
- Experience working with legacy systems (e.g., SAS, SQL Server) to support migration and transition into cloud-native environments.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to bridge business needs and technical execution, translating requirements into high-impact data solutions.
- Effective communicator and cross-functional collaborator, able to influence stakeholders and align data efforts with organizational goals.
- Understanding of data governance, quality controls, and compliance in enterprise data environments.

Minimum Education Bachelor's degree/equivalent in Computer Science, Data Science, IT, or related Applied Mathematics field or other quantitative discipline required. Minimum Experience Five (5) years of experience in coding in data management, data warehousing or unstructured data environments Preferred Qualifications: Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law.
