Program Specialist-Cell & Gene Therapy

You will be responsible for gathering, organizing and disseminating information related to patient research samples. In this role, you will be expected to maintain and communicate weekly sample calendars, notify team members and collaborators of upcoming patient samples, changes in sample schedules, sample arrivals, and organize sample pick-up and distribution to key stakeholders and team members. You will be expected to keep up-to-date shared organizational folders, sample tracking, organizing and facilitating sample transfer requests.

Competitive candidates should be highly motivated and have a background in biology. You will need to be extremely organized, have strong communication skills, the ability to work effectively in teams and adapt to fast-changing situations. Preference to those who have experience in project management.

In the BMTCT department, westrive to perform cutting-edge laboratory and clinical research, particularly in the areas of immunogenetics, cellular therapy, transplant tolerance, immune reconstitution, infection control, and survivorship.In this position, you will collaborate with leaders in cancer and translational research across the institution and department and function as the main contact person to provide communication for patient research sample questions and issues.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Develop and disseminate communications regarding the program or project
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams internally.
• Honest Broker- deidentify patient samples.
• Lead the fulfilment of materials and logistical requests needed to complete research sample procurement.
• Assist in internal stakeholder management and communications.
• Sample and process tracking for multiple patient protocols and sample types.
• Sample distribution/sample courier.
• Sample transfer requests.
• Assist in the scheduling of topics for weekly intradepartmental CeTI2 meeting.
• EPIC sample log in, tracking and distribution.
• Ensure protocols are kept up-to-date and the most current study calendars are shared with key stake holders and team members.
• Confirm correct labs are received and distributed to correct collaborators.
• Keep accurate records of liquid nitrogen storage and log of all stored patient samples.
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

Minimum Education and/or Training:

• Bachelors degree required.

Minimum Experience:

• Minimum Requirement: 1+ years of experience in program coordination.
• Some experience/knowledge in working with project planning tools like MS Project, Microsoft SharePoint, ServiceNow, Smartsheet, Clarity, Planview, MS Office is a plus.
