Spacesaver Corporation is on the lookout for a dynamic and enthusiastic Contract Accountant to join our Finance team. As a Contract Accountant, you'll play a crucial role in our financial operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

What You'll Do:

• Team up with the Controller and Manager of Financial Planning & Reporting to ensure that all transactions and entries are spot-on for the month-end close.
• Dive into commission worksheets, track incoming payments, and ensure everything is accurate for contract orders.
• Tackle project discrepancies head-on and provided extra support for large contract orders.
• Be the go-to person for the Accounting Specialists and Project Accountant when they need help with escalations and tricky issues.
• Collaborate with our awesome Sales Teams and Contracts Team on active contracts.
• Outline accounting requirements for new contracts and create process documentation.
• Communicate contract requirements to Area Contractors (ACs) and assist them with order changes/questions.
• Prepare and submit invoices using various online systems as required by contract.
• Keep the Accounts Receivable Aging for contract projects in check and collect outstanding receivables.
• Analyze deferred revenue balances for contracts monthly and investigate variances.
• Review and enter vendor and freight invoices related to contracts.
• Provide IFF data to the Contracts Team quarterly for reporting and payment.
• Prepare accounting schedules/files for special accounting studies, analysis, audits, and quarterly/annual government reporting.
• Ensure changes for contract orders are properly approved before processing.
• Validate changes are appropriately reflected in new purchase orders or other documentation.
• Review data for discrepancies and contact order sources to clarify or correct as necessary.
• Provide personal information to government agencies and/or third-party services for security clearance.
• Train on the Accounting Specialist and Project Accountant duties and assist as backup when needed.
• Suggest and assist with the implementation of process improvements.
• Take on other special projects and duties as requested.

Qualifications:

• 2-year Accounting Degree with 3-5 years of experience, or equivalent experience in accounting, contracts, and government reporting.
• Experience in Construction or Project Accounting preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including strong Excel spreadsheet skills.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, analysis, and communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and organize team efforts to meet shared deadlines.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional standards.
