SUMMARY: The VP Business Banking is responsible for executing the credit union's strategies for the commercial department under the general direction of the Chief Lending Officer; planning, directing, supervising and coordinating all Credit Union Member Commercial Lending and cash management services. Duties comprise the supervision of day-to-day activities and implementation of applicable credit union policies and procedures in accordance with approved plans, programs, and objectives. Departmental responsibilities include the origination of new commercial loans; including: the underwriting, funding, settlement and servicing. This position has the additional responsibilities of hardware/software development, profitability, research and development of new commercial lending and deposit products and services, team leadership and employee development. The VP Business Banking will also assist in strategic planning and formulate & implement policies and business plans to meet credit union goals. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Five to seven years of commercial relationship management sales experience in a financial institution. Ten to fifteen years of substantial commercial lending background to include commercial loan underwriting. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Comprehensive knowledge of commercial lending operations, laws and regulations. Proven ability to perform business planning and execute according to said plan, making course corrections as needed. Proven ability to expand market share. High communication skills (verbal and written) in order to effectively convey thoughts and concepts to a variety of audiences and recipients. Strong human relations skills, recognizing the unique value, perspective and ideas of each individual in order to create a workplace which values diversity and inclusion. Flexibility and creativity needed to aid in designing new products and services or for product enhancement. Requires the ability to efficiently handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, with detail and results orientation; ability to lead independently as well as collaborate across functions in order to foster teamwork across the credit union. Knowledgeable of financial institution operations, operating systems, marketing of new products and services, and business technological advances in order to remain competitive. Must be proficient in Microsoft applications and able to quickly learn new applications.
