Position Title: Senior Category Lead - Capital

Location: Vadnais Heights, MN - Hybrid (2-3 days per week on-site)

Position Overview

The Senior Category Lead - Capital is responsible for ensuring supply assurance, superior cost management, and maintaining strong stewardship in support of internal and external customers. This role includes system responsibilities such as price updates, invoice discrepancy resolution, and vendor registration. Additional responsibilities include project-related tasks and daily management of material sourcing, usage tracking, forecasting, and price reconciliation. The position will focus on day-to-day sourcing activities while also identifying opportunities for process improvements. Reporting to a senior member of the sourcing team, this role will directly support 1-3 managers or directors.

Primary Responsibilities

  • 30%-60% Sourcing
  • 20%-40% Analytics
  • 10%-30% Transactional
  • 0-100% Systems and Processes
  • Updating pricing, invoice resolution, and system support
  • First line of contact with plants and suppliers for payment issue resolution
  • Assisting with request for quotes, bid analysis, and volume tracking for rebates
  • Ensuring compliance in ERP and other systems
  • Performing periodic analysis of spend and assisting in bid preparation and analysis
  • Supporting sourcing best practices, policies, and procedures
  • Resolving invoice discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Managing minimum and maximum order quantities and total volumes
  • May involve some direct sourcing, but not the primary focus

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience in sourcing functions
  • Experience working with S&OP, ERP, and payment systems
  • At least 1 year of experience in the petrochemical industry
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with little direction
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish is a plus
  • Training provided, including management-level sourcing training and system-specific training

Preferred Requirements

  • Master's degree and 1+ years of related experience
  • Experience with capital sourcing
  • Knowledge of Greenfield projects and new construction lines

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.

The salary for this role is $85,000 - $110,000.
