Central Garden & Pet's Equine Business Unit is looking for a dynamic and eager Summer Intern to join our team! This paid, 8-week Summer Internship position will reside with the Equine Business Unit leadership team in our Phoenix, AZ location and will be focused on business development (both eCommerce and Brick & Mortar) and consumer (brand, digital, etc.) and trade marketing.

What can you expect to get out of this internship?
  • You will be entrusted with challenging business projects across business development and consumer and trade marketing.
  • You will have the opportunity to own specific real-world projects that will have a direct impact on business results - working with and in support of customers such as Amazon, Tractor Supply Co., Chewy, Walmart and other key partners of the Equine Business Unit.
  • You will also have the opportunity to work with passionate and experienced Brand Marketing, Digital, eCommerce and Sales professionals and receive continuous coaching and mentoring from your manager and colleagues.
  • You will have the opportunity to work on products/brands that are fun and exciting.
  • You will learn how to monitor point of sale (POS), share and social media trends with Central's tools, interpret those trends, analyze the data and make recommendations to enhance and improve the business.
  • You will learn how to conduct research projects designed to improve brand and overall business performance.
  • Our Summer Internships are designed to provide you with an outstanding learning experience and a realistic immersion of working full-time at our company.
What are we looking for in you?
  • Enrolled in an undergraduate degree program from an accredited college or university.
  • Prefer business or specific focus on marketing, digital marketing, business administration, communications, finance or a related field.
  • Genuine passion for growth and development required.
  • Have and maintain high academic standards with your education institution.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent team leadership capabilities.
  • Strength in strategic and analytical thinking.
  • Show evidence of passion, self-starting capabilities and achievements in academic or non-academic activities.
