Add to favorites Favorited View favorites Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $48,600 - Midpoint: $60,800 (Salaried E7) Department/Organization: 204411 - Biological Sciences Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm Job Summary: The Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the PhD or other doctoral degree under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee. Additional Department Summary: The Biological Sciences Department at the University of Alabama is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral position. This position conducts research with various faculty members on a variety of projects. Designs and conducts experiments. Analyzes and publishes datasets. Presents research at conferences or workshops. Works collaboratively with other lab members and partners. Contributes to grant proposals or reports. Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Biology, Ecology, Marine Sciences, or related field. Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of statistical techniques and protocols to assess primary production, organic matter decomposition, marsh surface elevation change, and/or ecosystem responses to disturbance. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with coastal wetlands and field-based research on ecosystem functions. Record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals and strong data management and statistical analysis skills. Experience with field and laboratory work.
