We have an opportunity for a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join our Golden Valley, MN team. You will be responsible for the management of strategic sourcing and new product development (NPD) projects within the business segment. The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for prioritizing strategic initiatives, developing, and managing global suppliers, and ensuring productivity and sourcing metrics are met. You will be responsible for ensuring that supply initiatives and projects are well aligned with the Enterprise goals and strategic priorities.

You will:

  • Responsible for execution of sourcing strategies across all aspects of the business through supplier selection and development, sourcing risk assessment, business terms (pricing, warranty, lead time, payment terms, delivery terms, MOQ, etc.) negotiations and execution, and supplier performance management.
  • Support NPD and drive early supplier involvement in new product development. Drive collaboration with suppliers and internal cross functional teams for betterment of production and NPD project success.
  • Work very closely with Engineering to manage the sampling and product approval process for NPD and strategic sourcing / re-sourcing projects. Plan and direct the work activities and resources necessary for suppliers to manufacture products in accordance with cost, quality, and Engineering specifications.
  • Responsible for supplier risk assessment during product design reviews. Lead cross-functional team for component qualification, meet target costs, reduce single sourced supply chain risks.
  • Execute and analyze RFQ's, providing supply chain recommendations that are in alignment with category goals and objectives.
  • Own timely execution of strategic sourcing and corporate re-sourcing projects. Work closely with plant Materials teams to manage the supplier transition process as well as the ramp-up and ramp-down of affected components.

Key Qualifications:

  • Have earned at least a bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Have 3+ years of experience supply chain experience in global Sourcing environment.
  • Experience with plastics, resins and chemicals, other commodities is a plus.
  • Have project management skills to develop plans, action steps and timetables and meet deadlines.
  • Strong track record of driving results and savings/ cost reduction and execute projects on time.
  • Demonstrated experience in data mining to help make fact based, data driven decisions.
  • Experience managing and negotiating with suppliers of different sizes and different process maturity levels.
  • Understanding manufacturing best practices and be comfortable interfacing with all levels of a manufacturing organization.
  • Travel 25%

Compensation:

For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $61200 - $113600 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs.

This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as, annual incentive bonus.
